Cracked flaunching, loose pots and tired stacks put right before they let water in.

The flaunching is the bed of mortar around the chimney pots. When it cracks, water runs down into the stack and can show up as damp inside. We break out the old flaunching and re-bed the pots in fresh mortar, shaped to throw the water off.
We also repair and repoint chimney stacks and replace cracked or loose pots.
Each one keeps the weather out of the stack. These are the parts we check and put right.
Pots crack and work loose over the years. We replace broken ones and bed them back in securely.
The mortar around the pots, sloped to throw the rain off. Once it cracks, water runs straight down into the stack.
Worn mortar joints let rain soak into the stack and through to the rooms below. We repoint and repair the stack.
Seal the joins where the stack meets the roof tiles. If they lift or split, water runs in around the chimney.
